  7. Drawing Dimensions

When inside Drawing Mode the dimension behaviour changes from the default modelling mode. The dimension setup in the drawing will be saved with the drawing file unlike the regular modelling mode.

All dimensions are editable with any text. This is if you want to rename dimensions (for example if you want it to reference a table instead).

When you click on a dimension you will see the value in arrows (e.g. <3.45 m>). This keeps the dimension adaptive so that if you continue using the same drawing document on a different changelog version, the values will automatically update. Otherwise it will stay static to what you overwrote the dimension with.

To control which dimensions are visible you use the Right Bar Dimension Panel. This controls visibility and the plane the dimension sits on - this will determine which view the dimension shows up in when rendering the images. To get a preview of what will be rendered, use the view cube and choose the axis.

Dimension Styling

In Drawing Mode, you can also style the dimensions with the Right Click Context Menu:

  • You can flip the arrows
  • Choose where the text position is
